When it comes to the topic of race, everyone thinks they're an expert on the other race. MTV has a new documentary, and people from all different walks of life are not welcoming it with open arms. The new documentary called “White People” and a simple way to put this is, MTV will force white people to face their whiteness, white privilege, whatever you wanna call it or any association you feel fits into the categories. The trailer on YouTube already has 1,000 dislikes and very few likes, and the comments sections on YouTube are always so understanding and well worded, I will not be putting any comments up because I don't know what's the worse or best one is. Because on YouTube no matter the video you know people are getting political, spiritual, controversial, and in their feelings.
Anyway to be honest, I really do feel that this will be an interesting documentary, it possibly will attempt to solve problems to no avail, and at the same time I already know it will cause more issues. Looking at the comments on YouTube, I see disrespect on both sides, and no attempts to learn or empathize, so American. I just want to say this, no race is entitled to words such as Racism and Prejudice, and that it can go both ways. You may think you're writing a revolutionary all fact no opinion comment, but you're doing the exact opposite, and that people can and will flip your words around, and make you and all (Insert skin tone here) people look like the bad guy. So, will anyone be tuning into this? I know I will, and one more thing choose your words carefully and read your comments out loud before you post them, I mean would you turn in an essay without having no one read it? #ThinkAboutIt.
White People airs on July 22nd, and check out www.lookdifferent.org/whitepeople to learn more. Thanks for reading, and try to be nice in those comment sections.
One Last Question
